Benna Iqbal is the Founder, Chairman, and Group Chief Executive of GI Corporation. He oversees the long-term strategy, capital allocation, and multi-sector operations of GI Corporation, a privately held U.S.-based industrial and technology company with activities across aerospace tooling, precision manufacturing, aviation software, defense logistics, and real estate.
Benna began his entrepreneurial career early, teaching himself software engineering and building small applications as a teenager. In 2008, he established the first predecessor to GI as a product development and technology services firm. That company — later known as GI Consulting — delivered engineering and software solutions for businesses in manufacturing, retail, and emerging start-up ecosystems.
As the firm grew, Benna’s interests expanded toward sectors that shape physical industries and long-term infrastructure. Guided by the belief that companies can meaningfully improve communities through innovation, quality, and responsible growth, he led GI through a transformation from a single-service business into a diversified operating group.
This evolution resulted in GI Corporation, the parent holding company that today invests in, owns, and operates a portfolio of businesses spanning aerospace technologies, precision machining, aviation tooling, real estate, capital markets, and defense support systems. Under his leadership, the group has expanded its footprint across multiple regions and continues to build new capabilities in sectors critical to national security, domestic manufacturing, and industrial modernization.
Benna holds a BSc in Computer Engineering from the American University of Sharjah and completed executive education at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. As Group CEO, he continues to lead GI’s growth, acquisitions, and new ventures, shaping the company’s long-term vision and its role in advancing American industrial capacity.
